"Rays of Hope"
In addition to our existing projects, we have undertaken to help a Community Based Organisation in Ngong called Rays of Hope. We have signed a Memorandum of Understanding setting out our mutual responsibilities.
In partnership with Rays of Hope, and the Children's Office for Ngong Town, we have placed thirty two rescued children in family settings with living relatives or with foster carers. We retain a social worker to implement our reintegration programme and to monitor the children's progress. We provide, nutrition, medication and education for these children.
Our education provision ranges from kindergarten to third level and we maintain close contact with the educational institutions and authorities.
We have an ongoing arrangement with a clinic which provides 24/7 care for our children.
Rays of Hope is chaired by Julius Arega and the vice-chairperson is Daudi Ogode. Abraham Diedo, a social worker and Deputy Children's Officer for Kajiado North, also sits on the board.
